Portfolio Analysis Tool - METRiQ
description
Russell Investments clients wanted access to a platform filled with Russell’s powerful suite of portfolio analysis tools - so they can make data-driven decisions about their investment portfolios, like Russell portfolio managers.
My role: Product Designer
I facilitated discussions with stakeholders to land on a final design direction. Finally, I created and specified user interfaces for the end-to-end user experience.
Process
-
I gained access to competing platforms that we intend to match/outperform, identifying concepts to reuse and UX problems to avoid.
-
We decided to launch the first version of the platform with 2 of the planned 10 modules. Before finalizing designs for the dashboard and the two initial modules, I hosted information gathering sessions alongside the product owner. These helped us figure out user goals, business goals, and the overall end-state scope of the platform.
-
Without access to clients or their feedback, I collaborated with the product owner and other stakeholders to align on the general direction. I led brainstorm sessions and working through mocked-up concepts.
-
Narrowing down early concepts to get specific on the designs, I finalized the design of the key interfaces within the platform.
-
To make sure we’re all shooting for the same target, I presented the concepts to business and IT stakeholders and gathered feedback.
-
Work with developers to get it built, ensuring it aligns with the specifications.
